Employment Scam – WARNING
It has been bought to our attention that there is a scam currently running on the Gumtree Job Website offering employment for Security Officers to work in London during the forthcoming Olympics.
The scam requires applicants to forward £50.00 cash for a CRB check and uses the name of OMNI Security Recruitment, needless to say OMNI Security Ltd are NOT involved in this and the misuse of their name has been reported to both Google and Gumtree.
Members are warned not to be tempted to respond to this fictitious employment offer.

RE: DRUG SAMPLES
Since the closure of the Forensic Science Laboratory obtaining drug samples for DDD training in the private sector has become extremely difficult.
NASDU is pleased to announce that after many months of communication with Her Majesty Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and in particular their Criminal Investigation, Specialist Delivery Department we now have details of a private company authorised to supply drugs to the Police, Prison Service, UKBA and now the private sector.
Details of this Company together with the appropriate “Drug Dog Training Samples Order Form” have been sent to all NASDU Trainers approved to deliver DDD training and in particular the HABC Level 3 certificate for Drug Detection Dog Handlers.
Whilst this facility is open to all NASDU Members, should any other Individual or Company wish access to this facility then they should in the first instance e-mail NASDU Head Office on info@nasdu.co.uk attaching a copy of their Home Office Licence.
For further information on Drug Detection Dog training and qualifications contact Steve at Head Office on 01483 888588.

TRADING STANDARDS
Over the past few months NASDU has received a large volume of calls from both Members and non Members regarding Companies who advertise that they are NASDU Members, when they are not, this in breech of the "Supply of Goods & Services Act" for which a prosecution can be bought by Trading Standards.
In addition to the unauthorised use of our logo a number of these Companies and Individuals are delivering below standard services and in some cases inadequate training often with the promise of employment.
To ensure we eradicate these unscrupulous Individuals and Companies from our industry we ask that you contract Trading Standards direct if you have had any unfortunate dealings with these Companies, if it is just the use of our logo you have a concern with please contact NASDU Head Office and we will then contract Trading Standards.
Contacting Trading Standards
Any Member or non Member having cause to make a complaint regarding the supply of goods or services or unauthorised use of the NASDU logo and accreditation, should contact Consumer Direct on their central number below.
Consumer Direct is the first tier of advice for Trading Standards and are funded by the Office of Fair Trading. On contacting their central number they will put you through to your local centre, of which there are eleven that cover the UK.
Your local centre will record all details, which will be forwarded on to Trading Standards; they will also give you a reference number. You can also make your complaint by e-mail by visiting their website and clicking on making a complaint.
