NASDU - AWARD FOR THE NON SECURITY
DOG ASSESSMENT

Introduction:
The NASDU Award for the Non Security Dog aims to provide the skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure competent handling

For Whom Suitable:
Civilian Dog Handlers (non security) who wish to have their Dogs level of competency assessed by a professional body

Awarding Body:
NASDU – National Association of Security Dog Users

Level:
Entry

Course Duration:
As this Award is an Assessment of competence there is no specific number of GLH

Programme Structure:
The programme is a practical assessment of the team for which all assessment criteria must be met

Prior Learning:
The non security Dog should have achieved a level of competence through previous training programmes prior to assessment

The civilian Handler should have achieved as a minimum the NASDU Award in Dog Handling Safety Techniques

Assessment:
The assessment shall be carried out by an Approved NASDU Trainer/Instructor and internally moderated by NASDU

Progression:
The successful Handler and Dog can proceed onto NASDU training programmes

NASDU Membership: 
Achieving this Award does not automatically entitle an individual to NASDU Membership; application forms for Membership can be obtained from your Trainer/Instructor or Head Office.

Applying for Individual Membership during training attracts a discount.
