Introduction:
The NASDU National Award in Dog Handling Safety Techniques aims to provide the learner with basic skills, knowledge and understanding in the safe handling of dogs
For Whom Suitable:
The Award has been developed to meet the needs of the civilian dog owners requiring basic safe handling techniques and the general purpose security dog handler prior to deployment and during initial training
This Award does not entitle the learner to work as a Security Dog Handler

NASDU – National Association of Security Dog Users
Level:
Basic
Course Duration:
A minimum of 15 Guided Learning Hours
Programme Structure:
The programme is a mixture of theory and practical tuition for which all assessment criteria must be met
Prior Learning:
There is no requirement of prior learning to achieve this Award
Assessment:
The assessment shall be carried out by an Approved NASDU Trainer/Instructor and internally moderated by NASDU
Progression:
The successful learner can proceed onto the ASET Level 2 Award for General Purpose Security Dog Handlers
