Experienced GP Dog Handlers Wanted

Parkguard Ltd is looking for self-employed dog handlers for work in the Central, North and West London areas.  This is on a sub-contract basis and the work available is long term, regular hours and with good rates of pay.  You will be required to complete detailed reports electronically, which are to be submitted via email at the end of each duty.  You may have to complete statements for Police and client use as well.  Some roles will be in Parkguard provided vehicles with relevant equipment and some in your own supplied vehicle with required equipment.  A good understanding of legislation and process is required as well as an ability to think for yourself and react to a wide range of situations.  You will be mobile, working in the public domain as part of wider Local Authority service.  You must be willing to deal with difficult situations and manage numerous tasks within a duty.  This role suits former Police, Military, Prison Service personnel or people from a community safety background, with an understanding of crime & Anti-Social Behaviour. The roles are more suited to NASDU (Level 2/3) handlers. Dogs need to have a calm and approachable temperament, not bark continuously in the van and if possible, be able to complete article searches.  With each deployment you will be supported by our Local Authority / Police Accredited Patrol Teams. 

Dog handlers must hold:

At least a Door Supervisor SIA license
A relevant dog handling qualifications (or be working towards this) or come from a military/police background with relevant training

To manage and provide effective leadership to all security staff

You will do this by ensuring:

•   All resources are appropriately and efficiently allocated and that all

•   Conducting monthly KPI’s.
•   Ensuring client meetings are carried out at least quarterly.
•   Writing up notes from all meetings, uploading them to the portal,
highlighting any action points.
•   Complete any action points raised by the client, ensuring these are clearly
communicated and closed out. All action points shall be documented as
well as the outcomes.
•   Provide quotations for work when required.
•   Ensuring Client’s KPI feedback on GSS’ management is above 90%.
•   Networking the Company’s services where possible


All members of staff must be suitable trained for their vocation. Furthermore,
their future training requirements and ambitions must be noted and followed up.
