Whilst NASDU can confirm (on request) if a Company is a NASDU Member or not it is the responsibility of either the individual Dog Handler or the service provider to ascertain if their future employer/client is compliant to the Code of Practice BS 8517 on an individual basis as applicable.

Malpeet K9 Academy are recruiting for an experienced credible NASDU accredited trainer ( or a trainer with the correct credentials to become a NASDU trainer ) Would suit a retired Military or Police instructor looking to add to his or her pension and in turn income. Must be able to instruct handlers and train dogs in GP 2 and 3 , Drug Detection both passive and proactive and Explosive Detection as a minimum. This is not a full time position however we can offer a minimum of 3/4 x 32 day courses per year at our residential facility in South Wales.. Additional training days are extremely likely so a flexible can do approach is a must…We will NOT consider trainers who are attached to other training companies or whom are active as a training business in their own right. We are looking to employ an Dog Handler to ensure that our client receives a consistent and excellent level of care. Your main responsibility will be to assist in ensuring that the property is managed and operated in line with agreed operating principles to support the achievement of our company goal to be industry leading in service levels to clients and stakeholders. Hours of work: 19:00pm – 07:00am Mon – Sun every week

Responsibilities and Duties:
– Prevent loss and damage to client sites by reporting irregularities
– Observe for any signs of crime and investigate disturbances
– Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates – including controlling traffic
– Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry to authorised personnel only
– Deal with customers, staff and visitors in a professional manner
– To take effective action in an emergency and co-operate fully with the relevant services
– Carry out any other Duties of a reasonable request by the client
– Take accurate notes to complete reports, log book entries and all relevant paperwork to a high standard -  including reporting in detail any incidents occurring whilst on duty

Service Provision:
– Ensure that service level agreements maintained as detailed in the Site Assignment Instructions and that any shortfalls are documented and reported to the Operations Manager

Compliance:
– Support and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with legislation and SIA Accreditation Scheme
– Support colleagues at on site with regards to requirements pertaining to access and egress

General:
– Any other duties as required by the Operations Manager and Site Assignment Instructions

– Valid SIA Door Supervisor & CCTV License
– Must have own dog, NASDU certificate & insurance
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The handler should have a level 2 qualification, suitable unbranded vehicle and suitable working dog.

T&L Canine are recruiting a fully qualified GP Handler for a contract in Highgate London. The handler must have a minimum of NASDU Level 2 and have their own public Liability insurance.
